Rally Academy – Huge Success
As our busy summers unfold, the Rally team has been hard at work. Roughly a month ago we hosted our first-ever Rally Academy and the event was a resounding success. Within a few hours of opening registration for the event, all spots were filled up and we had several teams wait-listed. The Rally team was then faced with a dilemma; open the event up to additional teams or offer a second session. We decided on the former which resulted in 13 teams attending the event.
Here is how the event worked: We gave out the general instructions a few days ahead of time (same as a normal Rally). When people arrived, they were given a set of route instructions with turn by turn explanations. We had some time at the start for Rallyists to review all the materials and ask questions and discuss the route. We then had an orientation meeting where the Rally Co-Chairs gave a high-level overview and went through each explanation in the route instructions. While this was a lot of material to cover, the concepts were put into practice on the route. The overall route was about 35 miles which is about 70% the length of a normal Rally.
We are am happy to report that ALL teams made it to the ending location in a relatively quick fashion! No Rallyist left behind! We then had a Q&A session over lunch. We received very positive feedback from Rallyists and plenty of folks who said they would be attending the Fall Rally. Hopefully, any prospective Rallyists reading this will sign up next year.
Fall Rally – September 22, 2019
On to the next event. Our Fall Rally is just around the corner. We have settled on an area as well as starting and ending locations. CVR is primarily made up of Connecticut but also includes two counties in Massachusetts. We have focused the Fall Rally around north-central Connecticut and south-central Massachusetts along the state border.

The Rally is still in the development stage but will be on Sunday, September 22, 2019. We plan on opening registration for the event on August 22, 2019, and will close September 20, 2019. As a reminder, all registration will take place on MotorsportReg.com.The link will be circulated via email once it has opened. Make sure to reserve your spot for the final Rally event of the year! We expect with all the newly trained Rallyists that the spots will fill up fast.
