VIEW FROM THE VALLEY – MARCH 2020

Connecticut’s official groundhog, Chuckles X, predicted an early Spring and she is looking to be pretty much spot on. Mother Nature can still have a few surprises up her sleeve but it seems like winter went by without being wintry.

It will not be long before all the CVR members who have had their cars under cover will bring them out from hibernation. I can’t wait.

I was on a business trip so I was not able to attend the February Monthly Meeting at our friends at Danbury Porsche. We thank Danbury Porsche for supporting CVR over the past 29 years. It was reported to me by Jeff Coe, Vice President of Programs, that the meeting was well attended. The members in attendance voted and approved the update to bylaw Section 5: “The Executive Vice President(s) shall perform the duties of the President in the absence of the President and shall perform the duties defined in the Bylaws and policies.”

Looking forward to the March Monthly Meeting at Automobile Associates in Canton.

PCA Tech Tactics East 2020

Maria and I attended the PCA Tech Tactics East this past weekend along with some of the CVR faithful. The event is held at the Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) Training facility in Easton, PA. Being a Porsche facility you can be assured that it is a world class facility that trains Porsche technicians on the intricacies of new Porsches while at the same time providing valuable training on the Porsches of old. It is a great venue for presentations by auto industry experts, including PCNA Field Specialists, PAG Project Managers, members of the PCA Technical Committee, and representatives from other companies such as Michelin, LN Engineering, and Total Seal. It is an opportunity meet PCA members and converse with friends in Zone 1 and Zone 2. We always learn something new at this event from the Porsche team and the other speakers. Porsche had two Taycans for us to check out and presented an overview of the technologies in the car. Seeing the cars in person left quite an impression, the car looks fantastic. We highly recommend attending this event next year.

Hope to see you at a CVR event this year, counting the days….
