The next CVR DE Event will be held on Saturday, August 14 at Lime Rock Park. This will be our second event of 2021, with students.
Our first event with students was held on July 12th and we had a great turn-out. We had so many first-time participants, with a 1971 911T as the oldest car in the Green rungroup and a 2021 Boxster GTS as the newest car in the Green rungroup. Plus, there were many, many Caymans.
Once again, I have to thank all of our instructors. We have a great group, with years of experience, always willing to sign up for a CVR DE. And we have a lot of instructors that come up to Lime Rock Park, without a car, just to instruct. That’s dedication and very appreciated by the DE Team.
Several new students asked if they should tip their instructor. While the instructors are probably wishing I said “Yes!”, tipping is not part of the DE program. One time, years ago, a student jokingly put a tip jar on the table, for instructors. Inside was a mint, a nickel and a paperclip. We all had a good laugh.
If the August 14 event doesn’t work well with your calendar, our next event will be held on Saturday, September 11th, at Lime Rock Park. If you’ve been thinking about trying a DE event, stop thinking and just register (on ClubRegistration.net). You will have more fun at the event than you can imagine.
