SUMMARY:Plainfield to Vanilla Bean Early Bird Coffee Run
DESCRIPTION:Registration will open at 7pm on Tuesday\, August  24th (form will be available above at that time). Please leave the Total Guests count at 1 on the RSVP form\, this represents the number of cars you are bringing. Thanks. \nThis is a tri-state run\, taking us into Western RI\, just touching southern Mass\, and then ending in the quiet corner of CT. It’s a very curvy and twisty route in some places\, with some narrow roads. \nThe route is divided into three different driving sections: \n\nSection 1 is very curvy\, mostly back roads – good two-hand driving roads. Not the best section to be enjoying your coffee!\nSection 2 is more Grand Touring with more gentle curves. A good chance to relax and enjoy the scenery.\nSection 3 is a combination of both.\n\nJust after the coffee break\, there’s a nice covered bridge – The Swamp Meadow Covered Bridge before you turn right onto route 94. You can see it straight ahead. It’s a short dirt road. Great photo op for anyone interested. \nWe’ll be ending at Vanilla Bean for brunch or an early lunch. \nStarting point:  McDonald’s\, 796 Norwich Rd\, Plainfield\, CT\nEnding point: The Vanilla Bean Cafe\, 450 Deerfield Rd\, Pomfret\, CT \nTotal Distance: 111 miles \nRidewithGPS NAVIGATION PHONE APP \nThrough the generosity of Hagerty Insurance a RidewithGPS navigation app club account is available to all CVR members. \nThe RidewithGPS app provides turn by turn directions on your smart phone. SUMMARY:Glastonbury to East Windsor Early Bird Coffee Run - May 23\, 2021
DESCRIPTION:Registration will open at 7pm on Tuesday\, May 18th (form will be available toward the bottom of the event page at that time)  Please leave the Total Guests count at 1 on the RSVP form\, this represents the number of cars you are bringing. Thanks. \nMay 23\, 2021 – Early Bird Coffee Run\, Glastonbury to East Windsor \nStarting point: Dunkin’ Donuts\, 141 Hebron Ave\, Glastonbury\, CT\nEnding point: Dunkin’ Donuts\, Thompson Road\, East Windsor\, CT \nTotal Distance: 104 miles \nThis run will start a bit early to beat the traffic. Meet up between 7:00 – 7:30 am\, driver’s meeting at 7:30 am with departure at 7:45 am. \nNew run for 2021! This coffee run starts in the quaint town of Glastonbury. You’ll have to look closely for the start as town ordinances limit sign size. Dunkin’ Donuts is paired with Baskin Robbins just off the downtown rotary. \nThis drive is exclusively state highways\, offering sweeping curves\, elevation changes\, and beautiful scenery as we work our way to Vanilla Bean for our rest stop and then on into East Windsor. We’ll start out with long runs West along Routes 94 and 207 before we head North on a curvy 97. Some of the highways will be familiar as they are some of the best in the “quiet corner”. After our rest stop\, we’ll head north for a bit before heading East to our destination. You’ll be treated to even more curvy state highways – a little narrower than the first half of the drive. Great curves all the way to our destination of  Dunkin’ Donuts in East Windsor\, less than a mile from Route 91. \nThe total drive is 104 miles. Easy access to route 91 at the end of the run for returning North or South. \nRidewithGPS NAVIGATION PHONE APP \nThrough the generosity of Hagerty Insurance a RidewithGPS navigation app club account is available to all CVR members. \nThe RidewithGPS app provides turn by turn directions on your smart phone.
