Presenting the new digital Challenge magazine
Welcome to the latest chapter in the history of our Challenge newsletter, introducing the digital Challenge. We are continuing the journey of producing a newsletter that has adapted throughout the years while presenting our club with information on club events and topics that complement our passion for all things Porsche. We are excited about the capabilities of the new medium to provide more dynamic content to our members and color photos!
I would like to introduce our new Challenge Chair and Production Manager, Eric Richmond. He is a relatively new CVR member who volunteered to help with whatever we needed in coming up with an electronic version of Challenge. He then proceeded to do all the heavy lifting to develop the digital Challenge that we see today. We cannot thank him enough for fulfilling the PCA motto “Fueled by Volunteers”.
Thank you to my fellow Challenge Transformation team members, Jeff Coe, Don Phelan and Shelley Krohnengold for their efforts during the process to create the digital Challenge and the support during the coming months to ensure the continued success of Challenge.
I cannot list all the adjectives needed to describe the magnificent service to CVR that Shelley has provided over the last 10 years as Challenge Editor. He has produced an award winning publication that is a 1st class presentation of CVR activities. He certainly deserves to receive accolades from the CVR members and respite from the monthly publishing schedule.
Here is some info on several Challenge volunteering opportunities and encourage you to consider joining the team. The Challenge staff will be the key to success as we begin this part of the Challenge journey. Please contact Eric to answer any questions about volunteering at challengechair@cvrpca.org.
Challenge Staff open positions:
Content Editor
- Develop the schedule of Challenge articles per month for at least the next six months, preferably for the next 12 months
- Coordinate with the article authors to ensure the content is submitted on time.
- Ensure the articles meet the defined standard.
Email Blast Creator
- Put together the email blast with items provided by the Production Manager
- Schedule will be at least once a month and perhaps a mid-month email if needed
Graphic Designer
- Provide graphics that are needed for the site and help with editing pictures for articles
Proofreaders
- Review articles to ensure they meet the defined standard, correct spelling, grammar and flow of the article
Advertising Manager
- Sign up advertisers and track their renewal date
