Chair: Theodore R. O’Neill
This year’s 52nd Concours will feature new awards, prizes, and a chance to talk to experts about your car in a casual setting at the Farmington Polo Grounds. This year’s special display will be all the Turbos.

First, about our club. We have 3,720 members, out of which there are 2,463 vehicles (See Figure 1). The largest group consists of owners of 911s (59.1%), followed by owners of mid-engine Boxsters and Caymans (20.7%). Front-engine Porsches of all years represent the next largest group (16.1%). The smallest group is 914s, of which there are 34, or 1.4% of our members’ cars.

Prizes
- To increase representation across all classes of car, this year there will be awards for the class(es) of entry that exceed 5% of the club’s totals. For 914s, that would be three or more. For 992s to keep pace, we need at least 16 (see Figure 1).
- To increase representation across the state, we will award the person who drives the farthest to join our event. In the event of a tie, the person who got to the event first will be declared the winner. Distance calculations will be made by Google Maps.
- The People’s Choice Awards will go to the top three most chosen cars in each class.
New Ballots
To gain more insight into why cars were selected, this year’s ballots will be different. Each person will receive one ballot, which will allow you to vote for two cars in each class. This way, you may vote for your own car and someone else’s, if you like. The ballots will also have a coding feature so that you can tell us why you chose the car you did. Categories include “Color”, “Great options”, “Car I would like to own”, etc.
New Shop Talk
When I was new to the Porsche club, I met someone at the first concours I attended who knew more about my car than I did, and I found it really helpful. To try and recreate this, we are calling for “Ambassadors” to represent each class and make themselves available to answer questions. We currently have Ambassadors for Class F (996) and K (Boxster/Cayman). If you feel comfortable talking about your car and taking questions, please reach out to me at (theodore.oneill@gmail.com). Cars of the Ambassadors are included in the balloting, and the Ambassadors get a free breakfast sandwich.
Location: We are returning to the Farmington Polo Club this year, but we will not be in the big field. Look for Entrance “C”, 162 Town Farm Road. If you find yourself traveling along an unpaved road, you are in the wrong place.
The event starts at 9 AM. We will begin counting ballots by 10:30, and we will set up the awards ceremony as soon as possible thereafter, with the goal of noon or sooner.
Class Parking. Plans may change, but we plan for all Turbos to park on the pavement adjacent to the field, and all the other cars will self-park by Class in the field, in the row according to their class.
Food. There will be a food truck, with food for purchase.
Rain date: October 25.
Donations: Please bring pet supplies, food, or donate cash to our sponsored charity: Protectors of Animals, a non-profit, primarily volunteer, no-kill organization.
