Aug. 17: Rhinebeck Coffee Run

August 17 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Glastonbury-to-East-Windsor - DSC_0006
Starting point: New Milford Green (Main Street), New Milford, CT. Park anywhere along it; coffee, restroom within walking distance, gasoline around the corner.

Drivers meeting at 8:00 a.m., on the road at 8:30 a.m. The total drive time to our final destination is approximately 1.5 hours.

Our route will take us on a scenic drive through Litchfield, Putnam and Dutchess Counties. We will continue on to the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, in Red Hook, New York. The Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome is a living museum; it owns many examples of airworthy aircraft of the pioneer era, World War I and the Golden Age of Aviation between the World Wars, and multiple examples of roadworthy antique automobiles. The Aerodrome features airshows and biplane rides available to the public. Those interested may swap their Porsche steering wheel for a seat in a 1929 D-25 Standard.

After our visit, you may choose from many great local lunch places in the area. Each individual is responsible for paying for their lunch. Those still game for more will return to the Aerodrome for the History of Flight Airshow from 2 – 4 p.m.  The caravan will then return to New Milford via a more direct route, including a portion of the beautiful Taconic Parkway.

More details to follow as we get closer to the event date.
