Rally – Jan 2019

We hope you all had a nice holiday. At time of writing, the annual planning meeting is scheduled for this Saturday and the CVR calendar is filling up. As we nestle in for winter we turn our thoughts to planning the Rally events of 2019.

We are looking to a new year of Rally and are investigating possible locations. We normally rotate Rally locations around the state and are currently looking for our next Rally site. We think it will likely be in the Northwestern part of Connecticut. We are always happy to take suggestions of starting and ending locations as well as nice driving roads.

For those interested in giving Rally a try for the first time, we encourage you to come out and join us. We had many first timers come to the last rally and are happy to report they all survived. Our primary goal is to ensure everyone has a good time, no matter their skill level.

INTRODUCING: Rally Academy

So there is this thing called Rally. It seems really complicated or involved. But from everything I hear, everyone has a great time. So how do I get started? Funny you asked.

Starting in 2019, for the first time we will be offering Rally Academy. This is a new format designed for true beginners. While we are still honing the finer details, the forniat will likely include a brief discussion before a mini-Rally where

participants will have rules explained, gimmicks revealed and end with a Q&A to ensure a strong base for your first real Rally. Best part is that it will be in the summer leaving an opportunity for you to try your skills out during that same season.Rally, as with all CVR activities, is fueled by volunteers and we welcome anyone interested in helping out. This can be something as simple as staffing a checkpoint or something more involved like assisting in the overall Rally development. Please reach out to us either in person or via email at: Rally@CVRPCA.org.
