As PCA celebrates its 70th anniversary this year, it brings a certain perspective and clarity to things. CVR was founded over 65 years ago and now has over 3700 members. Joining 45 years ago, I clearly recall breaking through the 300-member mark with a theme of innovation, a focus on constant improvement and making new members feel glad they came. That approach has continued ever since and kept CVR ranked as one of biggest and best regions of the 148 in PCA. All you need to do is participate to join the fun.
Having actively participated in virtually every kind of event CVR has offered, I can gratefully say it’s been time well spent and produced many lifelong friends and memories. I invite each of you to try a CVR AutoX as a $40 experiment to feel the same. Yes, I’m biased, but for good reason. As National PCA AutoX Chair, I can honestly and factually say we have one of the top AutoX Programs in all of PCA and the world! Come see for yourself.
Even if you have no intention of driving “competitively”, you owe it to yourself to try one of our AutoX-University events to appreciate how amazing every Porsche model really is. Driving at near highway speeds on a twisty country road that is stuffed into a safe parking lot, is a real eye opener. It’s the best bargain in motorsports and won’t hurt your car (we wash our small cones between each event so punting one doesn’t hurt your car). Big smiles await. Breaking news. The formerly provisional CVR AutoX event dates are now all firm. CVR’s 2025 AutoX Series supported by Porsche Hartford is officially on!
Good news on a personal note. After years of increasingly cloudy and amber vision, I finally decided enough was enough and did something about it. Wow, I can see clearly now! In fact, better than ever in my life! Ultra HD eagle vision kind of stuff. Now when I say “look ahead” to a student, I can actually see what I’m pointing at. AutoX is all about upgrading the “nut behind the wheel”, and I’m looking forward (sorry, had to say it) to Better Driving… Faster!
