DE is halfway through the 2025 season

It’s hard to believe we are almost halfway through the CVR DE season, but wait, that’s okay because there is still plenty of time for those of you wanting to try DE this year, as we still have multiple events scheduled at Lime Rock Park. Your participation is vital to the continuing success of the DE program, so stop procrastinating and come and see for yourself all of the fun you have been missing out on.

Instructor David gives a double thumbs up with his student Naim.

Our last DE event was on June 2nd at Lime Rock Park.  Once again, the weather gods were on our side and we had lots of sunshine.  Thanks to Bela at EPS for hosting the Green Zone, where we have all our green rungroup drivers park, so that they can hang out with their on-track friends and get to know each other between sessions.

The green rungroup parks (and hangs out) in the “Green Zone”.

Club Photographers Bob Reinckens and Jim McKay volunteered their time and photography expertise, taking lots (!) of photos.  Make sure to check out the galleries and see the beautiful collection of cars that come to CVR DE events.

Our next DE is scheduled for Monday, July 14th.  Every participant will receive a free t-shirt, sponsored by Salvio Motorworks.  Registration is open on ClubRegistration.net.

We also have an upcoming DE on August 2nd, which is also CVR’s Porsches@TheRock event.  This is the 3rd year holding this event and it has something for everyone – all Porsche owners are welcome.  We will have a Porsche gathering on the Midway, Driver Education on track, an Autocross in B-paddock, a Porsche-themed swap meet on the Midway, food trucks, multiple vendors and sponsors, and parade laps in your own Porsche on track, which have sold out for our first two years of Porsches@TheRock events.  There is no registration needed to come to the Porsche gathering.  Just hop in your Porsche and come on up to Lime Rock Park.  Gates will open at 10 a.m. and the first 500 Porsches will receive a free goodie-bag, filled with all sorts of items from the vendors and sponsors.  Follow our parking attendants and park your car with the other beautiful Porsches.  Registration for DE is on ClubRegistration.net and registration for AutoX is on Motorsportreg.com.

Parade lap registration and swap meet registration will open on Motorsportreg.com on July 7th.  You must pre-register.  We will also have lapping on the FCP Euro Proving Grounds with your own car.  Pre-register on Motorsport.reg.

To give back to the local community, we will be collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations for the Corner Food Pantry in Lakeville, CT.  We thank you in advance for your generosity.

If you can spare some time and would like to volunteer to help put on this event, we could really use you from approximately 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.  We need help with the gate, parking, and parade lap organization.  Remember, this is a club for the members, and every event is run by volunteers.  Without the help from time to time from our membership, we cannot put on events of this size, so please reach out to us if you can help in any way:  cvr.volunteers@cvrpca.org

See you at the track.

Dave

NOTE TO CAROLINE ABBA: 3rd paragraph references the galleries. Not sure if you want to put a link there (or not). Waiting to hear back from Shelley on where the link is for MSR for parade laps and swap meet and lapping.
