October 2025 Bob Napoletano President article

With fall fast approaching and the leaves starting to turn in some areas of the state, we still have several events on the schedule for our members to take advantage of, from Autocross to Driver Education, to Concours, and the yearly meeting, as well as our regular monthly meeting in October.  Check out the calendar on our website for more info.

The Coffee Run, originally scheduled for July, was postponed due to inclement weather and was held on September 6th, with much better weather.  Mark Mahoney did a great job managing the event, and some great Porsche driving roads were enjoyed by all through western Connecticut into eastern New York State, in the area around Kent.

The next day, our Fall Rally took place, thanks to Mike Greenblatt, and again, all who attended had a great time.  Although the weather was questionable early on, the rain stopped before the start of the event, making for an enjoyable drive, starting at Porsche Danbury and ending at the Fife and Drum in Kent, for lunch.

If you haven’t attended a Rally or Coffee Run, I would encourage you to do so or talk to someone who has.  It’s a great way to spend half a day having some fun in your Porsche on picturesque driving roads, as well as meeting like-minded fellow CVR members.

At the board level, we are busy finalizing plans for the yearly meeting in November, to be held at Millpond Gatherings in North Branford on November 16, which will include awards for Rookie of the Year and Enthusiast of the Year.  The nominating committee will also propose a slate of officers for the upcoming year.  Please join us for the event to socialize and hear the latest news heading into 2026.

Initial plans are already underway for both of our Club Races next spring and summer at Lime Rock Park and Watkins Glen.  It requires a tremendous amount of work and has become a year-long effort.

And finally, a special thanks to our Vice President, Brian Ruggiero, for his significant efforts in improving our social media presence.  His efforts have had a real impact on developing interest in CVR by those active on social media, especially younger people, a very important consideration to keep CVR vital in the future.
