Watkins Glen International Fan Guide

To ensure that all guests have a safe and enjoyable visit at WGI, the following rules and regulations are in
effect for all Events at our facility:

    1. Open fires are not allowed anywhere on Watkins Glen International grounds except in approved camping areas and must be contained in devices designed for that purpose. Small home grills, hibachis, and small gas grills are permitted in the paddocks if operated at a safe distance from any flammable sources. WGI reserves the right to determine what constitutes a safe distance and an acceptable grill. No fires on pavement.
    2. Watkins Glen International operates under state and local regulations governing hours of operation and noise levels. Cars may ONLY be operated on the Course during the hours specified in this Agreement and applicable session schedules. On-track hours will be posted on the event schedule; participants must comply at all times.
    3. Race/unmuffled engines may not be started prior to the times specified by WGI event management. Violations may result in immediate removal from the Event.
    4. No vehicles of any kind are permitted on the Race Course without the express consent of Watkins Glen International.
    5. User agrees to provide, or contract with WGI to provide, the following: corner workers to man all required safety stations; all necessary equipment for race flagging and communications as specified in the rental agreement.
    6. User agrees to provide officials, workers, and equipment as may be necessary for adequate organization and control of Events, including but not limited to personnel for vehicle safety and technical inspection, pit and paddock control, radio communications, and timing and scoring.
    7. User will have such authority and control as may be required for managing and conducting the Event, including control over the Race Course and other areas as specified. WGI shall determine who is a Participant for all purposes and shall exclude all persons from the Course other than Participants.
    8. WGI reserves the right, at any time, in its sole discretion, to refuse admission to or eject from the property any person for conduct which may be unsafe, discourteous, verbally or physically abusive, influenced by alcohol, drugs, or controlled substances, or which may otherwise diminish the safety, health, or enjoyment of others on the premises.
    9. The flying of any drones, fixed-wing or rotor, is strictly prohibited at Watkins Glen International at all times. Violations may result in confiscation of the drone and apparatus and expulsion from the property at WGI management’s sole discretion. Commercial drone use requires prior written approval from WGI.
    10. The operator of any vehicle on access and paddock roads must hold a valid operator’s permit and insurance covering that vehicle.
    11. User agrees, at its own expense, to: (a) control and be responsible for the actions and failures to act of all Invitees, personnel, Participants, guests, agents, and others entering WGI at the direction, invitation, or authority of User; (b) print and distribute all entry blanks for all Participants containing all applicable WGI rules; (c) arrange and conduct all Event parties and meals; (d) provide any and all prizes, trophies, and/or awards for each Event.
    12. User is responsible to pay for all damage to the track, paddock, and other facilities incurred in connection with User’s Event, including but not limited to damage to structures, barriers, tire walls, and grounds.
    13. User is responsible to pay for all damage to asphalt in the paddock or other areas incurred in connection with User’s Event, including but not limited to holes or depressions caused by tent supports, trailer supports, or the like.
    14. Recreational vehicles such as scooters, hoverboards, and skating systems will not be allowed to operate on the premises. ATVs, dirt bikes, and mopeds are prohibited.
    15. Bicycles may be used in designated areas only and must be operated in a safe manner. WGI reserves the right to restrict bicycle use if operated unsafely.
    16. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult while in the paddocks and must be kept under adult supervision at all times.
    17. Children under the age of 18 are not permitted to drive golf carts on WGI property. A valid Driver’s License is required to operate any golf cart. Golf carts are permitted for event-related business purposes only; violations may result in impoundment for the remainder of the event and possible expulsion.
    18. Pets are permitted in camping areas only and must be kept on a leash no longer than six (6) feet at all times. All pet waste must be cleaned up promptly by the pet owner. Pets are not permitted in the paddock or hot pit areas.
    19. Alcoholic beverages are permitted in the paddocks and pits only after on-track activity has ceased for the day. WGI has the right to suspend driving privileges for any driver found to be in violation.
    20. Quiet hours on WGI property apply from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Generators are not permitted during quiet hours unless required for medical purposes with a permit sticker.
    21. Weapons and fireworks are prohibited on WGI property at all times.
    22. Fluid waste must be placed in approved WGI disposal containers and NEVER on the ground.
    23. User shall ensure that Participants take with them all broken vehicle parts, batteries, scrap metals, tires, etc. WGI will invoice the User the cost of removal for each such item left on the grounds after the Event.
    24. Persons under 18 years of age are not permitted in the hot pits or at corner stations, unless a registered driver participant.
    25. No passengers, other than designated instructors, are permitted in vehicles without the express consent of WGI.
    26. Helmets, long pants, and closed-toe shoes are required of drivers and instructors while on the Race Course.
    27. Open cars must be equipped with a roll bar meeting the following specifications: (i) the roll bar must be of sufficient height to ensure that the top of the driver’s helmet sits below the line from the top of the roll bar to the top of the windshield (the “broomstick test”); and (ii) the roll bar must be fixed and visible at all times when the vehicle is on track.
    28. To facilitate emergency vehicle access, race and personal vehicles must not be parked on any paddock road or safety access lane during an Event. Any vehicle not in compliance may be towed at the User’s expense.
    29. No vehicles, equipment, trucks, or trailers may be brought into or left in the facility prior to the start of the Event without prior approval from WGI. WGI is not responsible for any vehicles, equipment, trucks, or trailers left unattended.
    30. Paddock traffic is subject to posted speed limits and directional flow. All participants must follow posted signs and directions from WGI personnel.
    31. Participants and/or guests desiring an electrical hookup must not have cords cross or impede any roadway or access area where vehicles or pedestrians cross, unless cords are covered with approved safety covers.
    32. User is responsible for all fines (civil and criminal) incurred by User and its assignees while using the facility.
    33. The User shall, without supervision or interference from WGI or any other persons, conduct and be responsible for the registration, inspection, practice, and program of each Event. User agrees to comply with and conform to all applicable Federal, State, and local statutes, regulations, or court orders.
    34. Glass or ceramic containers of any kind are prohibited anywhere on the WGI property.
    35. Shipments may be sent to: Watkins Glen International, 2790 County Route 16, Watkins Glen, NY 14891 — ATTN: Team Name / Event Name. WGI will not be held responsible for any packages delivered to the property.

ANY FAILURE TO ABIDE BY THESE RULES AND REGULATIONS MAY RESULT IN A NON-REFUNDABLE EXPULSION FROM WGI. PLEASE REPORT VIOLATIONS TO OUR GUEST SERVICES BUILDING LOCATED AT THE MAIN GATE.
