Musante Motorsports shows off their new facility
With Porsche driving season in full swing we ventured to our long time partners Musante Motorsports for our May meeting on Tuesday the 14th. Last year Mother Nature tried to stop us with tornadoes and hail storms but thanks to Musante’s and our resilient CVR members, the meeting went on as planned. This year we only had to deal with overcast skies. We want to thank Chris, Renee and the entire staff for hosting us at their new location at 41 Commerce Way in South Windsor. Congratulations to the Musante team on an amazing new shop. As the members arrived they were treated to a great dinner buffet and tours of the new location.

The meeting began with CVR PCA business which included a review of April and May club activities including the Member Sampler, Bear Mountain coffee run, D.E. events, PCA Club Race at Lime Rock, AutoX, Spring Rally and our successful showing at Caffeine and Carburetors in New Canaan. Previews of upcoming May and June events included Spring Tour, D.E., AutoX, Coffee run (6/2), 46th Annual CVR Concours (6/15), D.E. Watkins Glen (6/17-6/18), Redline Restorations wine event (6/21), Concorso Ferrari and Friends (6/23 NON PCA event), and Rally Academy (6/30). Please make sure CVR has your current email address so you can be notified of our activities. In addition visit our website and follow us on FaceBook, Instagram and Twitter for information on upcoming events.
Chris Musante then spoke to us about their new shop and the ongoing projects at Musante’s. He then introduced representatives from JN Phillips Auto Glass to talk about the current advances and intricacies in Porsche windshield and OEM glass technology. The topics in the presentation ranged from fixing windshield chips using a Dremel tool to replacement of OEM glass on both classic and new Porsches. Please contact Chris or Renee for additional information.

For the 2nd year we were excited to welcome back representatives from the DreamRide/DreamShow. Dean Cusano of Motorcars Inc., Mack Doyle from the HomeTown Foundation and CT Special Olympic athlete Ryan were on hand to thank CVR for our 2018 participation and talk about this years event. Last year CVR was the marquee car club with 74 member cars (and 35+ passengers) on display, surrounded by Paganis, McLarens, Lamborghinis, Ferraris and more. This year we hope to double the number of member cars participating. This is truly an amazing event and is so much more than a car show with activities and entertainment for the whole family, it is not to be missed. The 2018 event raised $2 million dollars for CT Special Olympics and local charities and CVR was proud to be a part of this worthy cause. This years event is on Sunday, August 25th, 2019, registration is open at www.dreamride.org. Please contact Joe Morrow at jmharleyd@gmail.com for more information (DreamShow is a NON PCA event).

Thank you, Joe Morrow CVR PCA Program Coordinator, Social Media Chair
