As we head into the IMSA weekend and Porscheplatz, here are some things to keep in mind that may add to the excitement of watching the Porsche Motorsports North America racing team in action. If you are an avid follower of IMSA or new to the sport, here are some of the latest Porsche (and non-Porsche) news items that you may not be aware of.
Porsche goes back to the standard colors
After running the popular Brumos tribute livery at several races earlier this year, including LeMans, the Porsche factory team will be back in the traditional white, grey, red and black livery for Lime Rock. We may see another tribute livery later this season.

Wright is back: After competing in the SRO America series this year, Wright Motorsports will be returning to IMSA for two races in the GTD class entering their 911 GT3R with Matt Campbell and Anthony Imperato. Matt is a Porsche factory back driver who won the Bathurst 12 Hours early this year for Earl Bamber Motorsports.
Pfaff lineup: Again, in the GTD class, the driver lineup for the Pfaff 911 GT3R is unclear. Zach Robichon is the only driver named on the pre-event entry list provided by IMSA. The other driver is listed as TBD.
Non-Porsche updates
Ford Chip Ganassi Racing: This is expected to be the last appearance of the factory-backed Ford GTs at Lime Rock. Ford is ending its support of the program at the end of the season. However, it’s possible that the cars may appear as privateer entries.
The Fords are also expected to continue to run in their “heritage” liveries at Lime Rock. The most striking is the tribute to the 2nd place GT40 in the 1966 24 hours of LeMans with it’s light blue and red/orange highlights.

Corvette Racing: Marcel Fassler will replace Tommy Milner in the number 4 C7.R as Milner is still recovering from an injury suffered at the Watkins Glen 6-hour race at the end of June. Will we be seeing a mid-engine C8.R at Lime Rock next year?
Don’t forget to stop by Porscheplatz on Friday and Saturday!
