Kringle Candle Coffee Run

Sunday August 11th was a picture-perfect day for a drive, windows open, sunroof back or top down. It was in the low 70’s in the morning, low 80’s in the afternoon with low humidity.

If you didn’t join us, BOY, did you miss out.

The night before John called and asked how many I thought would attend, I replied we had 4 confirmed. On Sunday morning at 8:45 I was en route and John called to tell me we already had 14 cars show up. By the time we got rolling we had 20 plus cars, most with passengers.

The route John put together for us was absolutely amazing! 103 miles of the most beautiful Porsche roads you could dream of with almost no traffic. The roads were tight, twisty and undulating, with some beautiful straights to exercise the upper gears in the transmission.

We started in Ludlow Ma and worked our way through the northern Berkshires into Vermont then back to Bernardston, MA. We stopped for a break at the Cold River Café in Charlemont by the Deerfield River. The remainder of the route took us through a wooden covered bridge, great place to “clutch and rev”, then on to Vermont and back into Mass.

We ended our drive at the Farm to Table restaurant at Kringle Candle Co. where about 25 of the happiest people you ever saw stayed and enjoyed conversation, pictures, stories and lunch.

People are already asking when the next run will be. Don’t worry John and I are planning it.

Steve
