PCA Zone 1 Concours

The nice thing about Zone 1 events is that they are far enough away to get you to visit a place you may have never visited before but not so far that you can’t just do the event for a day or two. This past weekend saw the 2019 Zone 1 Concours and rally taking place. This is an event I have attended many times but this is the first time we have travelled to northeastern Pennsylvania, specifically the Shawnee Inn Resort in beautiful East Stroudsburg.

Although the event had activities scheduled all weekend Sheryl and I decided to just attend the Concours event due to scheduling conflicts. We left bright and early Saturday morning and made it to the venue just after 8 am. The host hotel is quite striking being built in 1911 and located right on the Delaware River. It was outfitted with the era-typical long porch with rocking chairs so you could sit back and enjoy the beautiful view.

The Zone 1 team was ready upon our arrival with vehicle setup and a continental breakfast. After the car was parked I went to work cleaning the Porsche while Sheryl socialized. Lots of friendly folks at any PCA event as you know.  We spent the morning talking Porsches and many other topics, watched the judging take place, and then enjoyed a nice box lunch.

Mid-afternoon Sheryl and I headed back to CT although there was a dinner scheduled that night and the rally the next day. They certainly have some great twisty roads in PA as we moved along the river with the top down. My 968 loved them. We had a great time and recommend that you add a zone 1 event to your PCA calendar.
