Please mark your calendar for an exciting new CVR event to be held on Saturday, August 5th.   We will have a Porsches Cars and Coffee gathering on Lime Rock’s Midway.  There is no entrance or registration fee to put your car on display.  All Porsche models are welcome – any age, any color, any condition.   Every Porsche will receive a goodie-bag, with treats and advertisements from our sponsors (while supplies last).   Gates open at 10 a.m.

In addition to the Porsche Cars and Coffee gathering, we will also have a Porsche-themed Swap Meet.   If you have Porsche parts that have been in the cabinet for 10 years, maybe it’s time to sell them to a new family.

Interested in driving on Lime Rock’s famous 1.5 mile track?   We will be offering Parade Laps at lunchtime.  Drive your own car for three laps behind a pace car (no helmets required).   Max of four people per car.  Bring your phone and have one of your passengers take a video.

And if all of the above is not enough, bring your lawn chair or blanket and grab a spot on the hill and watch the Driver Education action on the track.  You’ll be impressed at the great driving skills of fellow CVR members.   Then wander over to the other side of the hill and watch the CVR AutoX drivers in action, in B Paddock.

We will have food trucks on the Midway, with food for purchase.   Our sponsors will also be on the Midway, with tents/tables set-up to showcase their business and goods.   It’s going to be a PORSCHE day!

There will be a collection site for non-perishable food donations to benefit the Corner Food Pantry in Lakeville, CT.    We collect for them a couple of times a year and this event will hopefully be the bonanza of all collections.

In conclusion – go to your calendar (on your phone, on your desk, on the side of the fridge) and write “Porsches at The Rock” in the box for Saturday, August 5. We hope that you will join us, making this new event the hit of the season.
