The CVR 2022 DE season is just flying by. It seems like just yesterday when we were planning the Winter Workshop for February. Here we are at the beginning of August already, but not to worry. For those of you who still want to get out and participate at a Driver’s Education event, we still have several events remaining for the 2022 season. Since it’s too late to register for our August DE, maybe you can plan on attending the September 10 DE at Lime Rock Park.
Registration is on ClubRegistration.net. All you need to do is create a profile for yourself on the site (it’s free to create an account). Once you have the account set up, search for CVR events and our events will list out. Pick an event – most registration opens up a month prior to the event – and register and pay. You will hear back from our DE Registrar Mark and he will get you set up with a car number. You do not have to buy numbers. You can use tape, you can use a window marker. Or if you like things to look neat, you can buy numbers. Decals, clings, magnetic – whatever makes you happy, as long as they are at least 4” tall and can easily be read by the flaggers.
With our lockdown year behind us and monthly meetings just getting off the ground again, I hope to get out there and answer questions some of you may have about participating in a DE. I hope that my love for driving on track will rub off on some of you. It’s a tremendous amount of fun and a great way to learn the safe handling of your Porsche in a safe, controlled environment. And you will meet a lot of really nice people.
