April 2026 Monthly meeting review:

Sloan Motors/Fairfield County Motorsport – Fairfield

The April monthly meeting is always one of the member’s favorites. The reason? It is because we convene at Sloan Motors for Brett Sloan’s annual “state of the Porsche market” report. Now, most of us have no intention of selling our beloved Porsche(s) but it is always fascinating to hear what is going on with the market surrounding them and Brett has his finger on the pulse of that market. No surprise, registration for the meeting was high, at over 100 CVRers!

Additionally, we had a beautiful, sunny day. A little cool, but the CVRers arrived and immediately went to work chatting up and taking in Brett’s amazing inventory. Brett always has an amazing collection, and this year was no different. For me, my favorite was the Zermatt Silver 968 Turbo S, 1 of only 14 produced. I had seen and drooled over the car at the Amelia Island event, and somehow it managed to follow me home to Connecticut. Fate telling me something? Maybe, but unfortunately, I’m still about a half-a-million short from bringing it home to my garage. 😊 The other CVRers in attendance also found many inventory Porsches to their likings.

With the crowd gathered, it was time for dinner. Brett, along with co-hosts Dan and Don from next door’s Fairfield County Motorsport, had brought in the Colony Pizza truck. Colony recently moved into my neighborhood, and I have visited a few times. Their thin-crust pizzas are delicious, my favorite being the hot oil with sausage. The pizzas started coming out of the truck, and the CVRers dove right in. The pizza reviews were all favorable as the conversations continued.

Before long, it was time to get the meeting started. We welcomed the CVRers to the event and thanked Brett, Dan, and Don for hosting. We then brought up President Bob, who introduced a few new members, brought up the board members in attendance, and ran the Mart. Next up, it was time for the main event: Brett’s presentation.

Brett came up, welcomed the group, and started with a review of the business (started by his father). The presentation then moved on to the market review. 2026 is indeed an interesting year, Porsche-market-wise. Prices are up, and I saw that personally when I visited Amelia. Brett reviewed each of the 911-generations and went over which models were super-hot with supporting, recent sale examples on each one. Amazing results. And it was interesting how sub-models within a category can bring even more dollars in resale. One thing Brett mentioned was that there are still entry-level Porsches to be found in each generation. Usually, we are talking about cabriolets here. Funny, as they cost a lot more when new, but in the collector market, it is the absolute opposite, as coupes prevail. So, if you are super eager to get into a particular model of a 911 and want to watch that budget, look for a cabriolet. Add a Tiptronic transmission and the price drops even further. Brett explained there is just ONE exception to that rule, the 356. In their purest of form, the 356 cabriolet will command the highest dollar. Fascinating.

Brett went over the rest of the used Porsche market, including the Boxsters and the transaxle cars. The membership was spellbound listening to the presentation. When Brett finished up, he took a few questions from the audience, and then we held our door prize raffle with a few neat prizes donated by Sloan Motors. Then we bid everyone safe travels home.

Thank you Brett, as well as Don Vidoil and Dan Mailer of Fairfield County Motorsport for hosting our April monthly meeting. We had a blast. And thank you to the Colony Grill pizza truck crew for serving up our delicious dinner.

And please CVRers, be sure to patronize our sponsors. If you are looking for a collectible Porsche, give Brett a call. Need service work? Reach out to Don or Dan at FCM. My wife and I bring our Macan there for service work, and they have a great team of technicians.  And when you do visit our hosts, be sure to tell them you are from CVR and that you heard about them at a monthly meeting or other event!!

Thank you,

Jeff Coe, CVR Programs VP
