June 2026 Monthly Meeting Review: FCP Euro – Milford – Article by Jeff Coe

For our June monthly meeting the CVRers returned to repeat host, FCP in Milford. The weather couldn’t have been better with sunny skies and great temperatures. The CVRers were excited for the meeting. Registration was strong and we had over 100 members attend the meeting. The CVRers also took the opportunity to drive their Porsches so the FCP parking lot looked like a Porsche car show.

Host Nathan Brown and the FCP crew had everything ready for us. The garage bay was set up with the seating and tables for dinner. First order of business for the CVRers, socializing, as they took in the shop and vehicles. Before long, dinner was served while the socializing continued.

With the top of the hour upon us it was time to get the meeting started. After welcoming everyone I shared my tale of meeting Erika Chisarik from PCA’s Hawaii Region while my wife and I vacationed in Hawaii this past May. Erika, who owns a Miami Blue 718 Spyder, shared with me some interesting tales of what it’s like to own a Porsche in Hawaii and the activities of the Hawaii region of PCA. It was fascinating and I was eager to share my discoveries with the CVR audience. One thing you would never guess is that the Hawaii Region of PCA was founded in 1959, the same year as CVR!!!

Next up was the CVR business meeting. Former President Shelley Krohnengold came forward and invited the board members to give their updates on the busy CVR summer calendar. Dave Vacarro was in attendance and gave us an update on how this year’s Porsches at the Rock event is shaping up. It looks to be another amazing event. We hope to see you on August 1st.

With the business meeting concluded it was time to bring up our host for the evening, Nathan Brown, FCP’s VAG Group Director. Nathan welcomed the CVRers. Most of the CVR membership knows and patronizes FCP regularly (matter of fact, member Jay pointed out that his old Volvo has more FCP replacement parts on it now than it does Volvo parts 😊 ). Then Nathan briefly went over the FCP business model and website offerings.

We then moved on to the topic for the evening, water pumps! Nathan had a number of examples on display that FCP sells and explained that they offer genuine Porsche, OEM (exact same quality), and then replacements. Each choice has pros and cons in both price and use. Current Porsche Water pumps have plastic impellers and FCP does offer replacements with metal impellers which sounds like an improvement. Nathan went on to explain that if a metal impeller water pump was to fail and break apart the resulting damage could be much worse for the engine. By the end of the informative presentation we learned that no single solution is 100%. We were educated on how important it is to stay on top of maintaining your cooling system. Nathan also showed examples of replacement radiators, coolant, and even an oil cooler. With the presentation completed Nathan took a number of questions from the audience.

We wrapped up the meeting with some great door prizes donated by FCP Euro. Thanks to Nathan Brown and the FCP team for hosting our June meeting. It was great fun.

And please CVRers, be sure to patronize our sponsors. If you need parts or supplies give FCP a call. Be sure to check out their great website and helpful videos. And if you visit FCP in Milford to pick up your parts, be sure to tell them you are from CVR and that you heard about them at a monthly meeting or other event!!

Thanks, Jeff Coe, CVR Programs.
