Winter Workshop Car Control Clinic

The first CVR DE event of the 2022 season opens for registration on February 1st at 1 pm, on ClubRegistration.net.  Once again we are holding our Winter Workshop Car Control Clinic at Lime Rock Park.  Our event is scheduled for Saturday, February 26th.  This event is open to all levels of drivers, 18 and older, with any car they want to bring.  Please note:  no cars with studded snow tires.

The WWCCC will offer a great chance to see how your car handles when it gets loose.   The day is focused on feeling the limits of your car, in a controlled safe environment, under the supervision of several pro-coaches. This event is limited to only 27 drivers in total so that we can ensure all drivers get plenty of opportunities in each exercise.   It’s a lot of fun to heavy brake and then slide and quickly recover, with no harm to your vehicle.   We hope for snow and/or other winter conditions but the event is held with whatever Mother Nature happens to dish out.

Every WWCCC participant will receive a limited edition long-sleeved t-shirt.   If you’ve never participated in a CVR DE before, join us at the Winter Workshop and add a CVR shirt to your clothing collection.  If you are a DE regular, you probably already have a lot of CVR shirts, but … you don’t have this one.

Remember – all helmets must be SA2015 or newer.  PCA granted a one year extension on the SA2010 helmets, but that extension expired at the end of 2021.    One of our WWCCC sponsors is Stable Energies Motorsports.   They have a large selection of helmets in a variety of sizes.  Give them a call if it’s time for you to buy a new helmet.   They also have cables and headsets, for beginner students that need to buy the hook-ups necessary to connect to an instructor’s communicator.

Our other Winter Workshop sponsors include Danbury Porsche, Elm City Trailer and Hagerty Insurance.   We can’t tell them enough how much the CVR DE program appreciates their support.   If you need/want a new car, are thinking about getting a trailer, or want to insure your toy(s), these are the three businesses that can take care of you. Give them a call and let them help you take care of your motorsport needs.

Cheers to a great 2022.  Stay safe.

  1. Dave, I hope you and Susan are doing well. Winnie and I have moved to the Cape so are not close. Would love to do this, but probably a little far to travel. I still have my 77, and have ordered a Taycan, I drove one on the track at Monticello last summer and decided I had to have one. It probably won’t come untill sometime this summer. Regards, Win
