Pumpkin spice candles. Pumpkin spice ravioli. Pumpkin spice lattes. Pumpkin spice everything!!!
FinanceBuzz.com even announced they are looking for an official “Pumpkin Spice Pundit” to rate Trader Joe’s pumpkin spice products. Great news for all the pumpkin spice lovers, but for me the vast amount of pumpkin spice signage is just a reminder that summer is almost over and with its end, we will slowly need to start packing our Porsches away – but not before we squeeze in every drive.
The end of summer/beginning of fall also brings with it great weather. You can take the top down, without sacrificing the comforts of air conditioning, while enjoying beautiful breezes as you drive through winding roads. Furthermore, as summer blends into fall and the leaves change color, even familiar drives take on a new feel. This time of the year is one of my favorites for exploring the countryside, stopping at a farmstand for an apple cider donut and getting lost at a vineyard.

If you are looking for a new scenic drive route, below you’ll find a few suggestions I stumbled upon during my quest to discover a few new paths:
- The Litchfield Circuit: The drive starts in Goshen, passes a few vineyards, takes you thru the idyllic town of West Cromwell and then continues thru Mohawk State forest and back to Goshen. Full details here: https://www.visitconnecticut.com/litchfield_northwest/scenic-drives/
- Connecticut State Route 169: Barns, old churches, farmlands – this scenic byway takes you thru rolling hills within CT’s “quiet area”. For full details and suggestions on where to stop : https://nsbfoundation.com/nb/connecticut-state-route-169/
Speaking of great drives, don’t forget to join us for our upcoming Coffee Runs and if you haven’t experienced one yet, scan our two Coffee Recap articles to see what you’ve been missing. If leisurely drives aren’t “up to speed” (see what I did there?) DE and AutoX are sure to satisfy you. And be sure to enjoy the great weather with the upcoming 49th annual Concours, the “Morning Coffee with Wayne Carini” event and so much more. Our calendar and magazine is chock full of exciting events and reads to help you forget that summer is ending and prolong the “Porsche season”.
And pumpkin chocolate chip cookies! Great article!
