We have another great year planned for Rally in 2020. First off, we are making a small tweak to the order of events this year. As with last year, we will have two Rallies and Rally Academy. In 2020, we will start the year with Rally Academy and move the first Rally of the year to Summer. We did this so that Rally Academy attendees could participant in both Rallies and compete for the annual Rallyists of the Year award. We also made the change to try to get some better weather. Over the past few years the weather for the Spring Rally has been less than ideal.
Rally Academy
Last year’s event was very successful and proved to be a popular event. This event will run again this year using the same format. The event is broken up into two parts; a short talk and then driving a demonstration Rally route.
The talk will go through exactly what to do and, most importantly, why you are doing it. You will be given a set of route instructions with the answers along each instruction. Using the route instructions, you will drive a shortened version of a Rally route previously used in competition. This will reinforce the material covered in the talk and we will wrap up with a Q&A session over lunch. This event is all about you and making sure you have the basics down so you can sign up for your first Rally with confidence.

Summer Rally
While we are still finalizing the details of the Summer Rally, some information is known at this time. We are looking to hold the Summer Rally somewhere around the Colchester area. Starting and ending locations have not been finalized yet so any suggestions are always appreciated. The format will remain the same as in prior years. This will be a Gimmick, course following Rally. We will also have a photo identification section related to sights along the Rally route. As soon as we have more information we will share through Challenge, the website, and at monthly meetings.

Fall Rally
We have not started planning the Fall Rally yet. All we know at this time is the date. So mark your calendar and keep an eye out for future communications on the details about the Fall Rally.
