On Saturday, March 13th, CVR held a statewide Community Service Food Drive. Many of our usual monthly meeting venues were invited to participate as drop-off sites.
They are listed with the recipients of the contributions:
Bethal Community Food Bank | Porsche Danbury |
Canton Food Bank | Automobile Associates of Canton |
CT Food Bank/Food Share | Hoffman Porsche, Porsche of Wallingford |
Food Pantry of North Branford | The Trailer Depot |
Hockanum Valley Community Council | Musante Motorsports |
Spooner House | Daniel Jacobs, LLC, Porsche Fairfield |
West Haven Emergency Assistance Task Force | Automobilia Auto Salon |
Thanks to the generosity of our members we were able to attract 113 cars carrying 4,685 lbs. of food and cash donations of $2,390.00, which translates into an additional 5,975 meals.
The following is a list of our members and their assistants who made this possible:
Tim & Christine Beckwith, with the support of Roger Funk |
Phil & Maria Capella, with Debbie & Rick Cloud and Mike Musante |
Jeff Coe, with Lisa Parker and Glenn Rozum |
Caroline & Alan Davis, with Bob Napoletano and Walt Hyjek |
Allen Fossbender & Christine Engel |
Linda Goodman, with Mike Appel and Joe & Norma Jean Macauto |
Paul Kudra, with Lynn & Rob Keller |
Susan & Dave Vaccaro, with Dave Hutchings, David Lee and Tod Pajonas |
Sue & Charles Young, with Mike Hopkins |
No activity would be the same without our wonderful photographers catching us for prosperity. [Click here to see the photo galleries.]
Mike Appel, Jay Harder, Walt Hyjek, Lance Johnson, Joe Morrow, Derek Parker, Bob Reinckens, and their faithful leader, Paul Roth, Chair of the CVR Photo Club.
Finally, I sincerely thank the technical team without whom this project wouldn’t have happened: Shelley Krohnengold, Eric Richmond and Frank Sena.
All of us together proved once again…”It’s not just the cars, it’s the people”
Thank you to all,
Susan Alyson Young, Community Service Chair
